Federal OSHA recorded a severe workplace injury at HOME DEPOT, 4555 OVERSEAS HIGHWAY, MARATHON, FLORIDA 33050 on — Fractures, affecting the pelvis.

An employee was removing fasteners from an MDF board on a shelving display while standing on a four foot step ladder. A piece of MDF board struck the employee and the employee fell sustaining a broken pelvis and a right shoulder contusion.

An employee was climbing a step ladder while carrying a 3-foot piece of conduit. As he went to reposition his feet on the ladder by pivoting, he slipped and fell from the third rung of a 6-foot ladder. The employee sustained fractures to the left femur, right elbow, and right ring finger.

An employee was descending a 4-step maintenance stand when she missed the bottom step and fell to the hangar floor. The employee suffered a left hip fracture.

An employee stopped a belt and was going to check it for missing packages. She fell backward 3-4 feet from an elevated platform and sustained a broken right arm.

An employee had just finished a routine concrete pour and was ascending the ladder to clean the concrete mixer truck. The employee lost their grip and fell approximately 2-3 feet, contacting the truck's bumper. The employee suffered rib fractures and a punctured lung.

An employee was performing duties as an expeditor. After opening the dock door, the employee scanned the barcode on the door of the truck and placed one foot on the truck and one foot on the dock. The truck drove out of the stall, causing the employee to fall 4 feet off the dock onto the concrete. The employee sustained fractures to the right side of the pelvis, elbow, and a left ring fingertip as well as injuries to the right wrist and bruising to the back and stomach.

An employee was backing up an electric pallet jack when it struck a yellow guardrail, pinning his ankle between the pallet jack and the guardrail. The employee suffered a crush injury to his left ankle and shin.

E&H Hardware Group, LLC

The injured employee was going to use an elevator to go upstairs. The elevator does not have a call button and is operated manually. The employee approached the elevator and used the elevator drop key located in the elevator key box to manually open the door. He then stepped forward into the elevator shaft. The elevator car was on another floor, resulting in the employee falling down the shaft from the first floor to the basement level. The employee was hospitalized with a sprained left hand and bilateral calcaneal fractures.

An employee was aligning a shipping offload conveyor. A component of the machine caught the employee's left middle finger, amputating it above the second knuckle.

An employee was using a torch to burn off liquid petroleum gas from old 100-pound cylinders so they could be recycled. When he went to move a tank, some gas spilled onto the ground, then ignited in a flash that engulfed him. He was burned on the face, hands, and back and was hospitalized.
