Final narrative
An employee was greasing a mill drum and trunnion. This procedure is performed with the drum running so the contact area gets completely covered. During the process, the employee tried to grab some grease that had dropped on the ground and lost his footing. When this happened, three fingers on his left hand became caught and amputated between the trunnion and the drum.
