An employee was attempting to help a coworker whose garbage truck was caught on low hanging cable/phone line wires. The wire was stuck under a panel on the top of the truck, so the employee attempted to free the wire by removing the panel. When he removed the panel, the wire swung backward and struck him, causing him to fall off the back of the truck. He landed on his right leg and fractured his femur, requiring hospitalization.
