Final narrative
On December 15, 2017, an employee was checking the components in the hood of a school bus when her cold-weather gloves were caught by the fan belt, which then forced her hand to strike against the pulley. Her right index fingertip was amputated. The engine was running at the time of the incident.
An employee was helping to repair the bumper of a school bus. As a piece of wood was being used to bend the bumper, the wood struck the employee, resulting in swelling and a hematoma in their abdominal area.
