An employee was cleaning under a mutton saw that had been shut off when the blade came into contact with her right index finger, causing a severe laceration. She was hospitalized. The saw was guarded at the time.
An employee was cutting 1-inch PVC pipe on a horizontal band saw. While he was clearing the parts he had cut, a weighted handle that was pushed down to move the blade back popped up, causing the blade to strike his right thumb and hand. He suffered an amputation to the thumb tip and a laceration to the back of the right hand. The band saw was unguarded and running at the time.
An employee was pulling a cart of glass windows to be loaded onto a truck when he backed up to a pillar and his left hand was caught and lacerated between the cart's handle and a fire extinguisher. He was hospitalized.
