During the process, the employee's left hand came close to the lip of a pan that was contacting the conveyor belt. The glove on the employee's hand became caught between the lip of the pan and the conveyor belt. The rotation of the conveyor belt grabbed and pulled the glove between the pan and the conveyor belt, causing a deep laceration to the employee's left hand below the thumb.
