An employee was removing a piece of cardboard that was on top of a pallet and underneath a spring hanger when the spring hanger shifted, causing his left ring finger to be caught between two spring hanger parts. His left middle fingertip was amputated with bone loss. Cut-resistant gloves were not worn at the time of the incident.
