An employee was securing a trailer to the dock to unload products. The employee engaged the dock lock and extended the manual dock plate. The plate did not go down when the employee stepped on it. The employee then used a stand-up lift to lower the plate. The employee backed the lift towards the dock and his left foot was caught between the stand-up lift and the dock plate. The employee sustained a laceration and fracture to his left toe requiring surgery.
