An employee was removing and repairing a hydraulic lift cylinder on a piece of equipment. The employee loosened a connection and pressurized hydraulic fluid burst out, hitting the employee's hand. Hydraulic fluid penetrated into the skin tissue and muscle of the thumb on the palm side of the hand.
