An employee was removing burrs from a rotating shaft with a hand grinder. The shaft caught the employee's glove and pulled the employee's left hand into the roller, causing two broken fingers and nerve damage for which surgery was needed.
An employee was cleaning a magnet on a machine with his right hand. The machine moved, and a finger on his left hand was pinched between a roller and the stop. The fingertip was amputated.
An employee was dehydrated so he went to the cafeteria to retrieve some water and then returned to his work station which is an exhausted, electric, heat-treating oven. Later, another employee walked around the work station and saw the injured employee lying unconscious on the floor. The employee sustained a fractured C7 vertebra.
