An employee was using a hoist to place gears in a pallet box. After setting a gear down on the pallet, the employee unhooked the chain sling and was moving the gear into the box by hand; the gear slid toward him and pinched his right ring finger against the box causing an avulsion injury.
An employee felt a sharp back pain while adjusting a 700-pound griddle, which was not level. He was hospitalized, having suffered a broken lower-back vertebra.
