On December 9, 2021, a temporary employee was trying to clear candy residue from the top sealer of a horizontal bagger machine using a paper towel. The machine cycled and the employee's fingers were pinched between two steel heated bars that came together to seal a bag, resulting in amputation of the right index fingertip.
An employee was performing preventative maintenance on a machine and greasing a drive chain under the tape sealer. The employee's right index finger became caught in the drive sprocket and chain and he sustained an amputation to the finger.
