Final narrative
The injured employee had just finished tack welding one end of a 14" diameter carbon steel pipe that was 21 ft. in length. He walked down the length of the pipe to stand at the opposite end to ensure the pipe was aligned straight. Other employees began to slide the next section of pipe into place and the injured employee's left leg was pinned between the two sections of pipe. The employee sustained a compound fracture and was hospitalized for surgery.
