An employee was pulling a cooler cart onto a trailer's liftgate when the cart trapped his foot against the lip of the liftgate ramp. The liftgate was in the elevated position and the employee fell backward resulting in a open fracture to his right lower leg. The employee was hospitalized and required surgery.
