An employee was backing up a garbage truck at a landfill to empty the truck. A concrete platform gave way, causing the vehicle to slide down into the landfill pit 20 feet below. The employee was flung backward and forward, hitting his head on the dashboard of the vehicle. The employee was hospitalized with a concussion.

An employee was servicing a container at the rear of the truck and went to return the trash can across the street when they were struck by a vehicle. The employee sustained a fractured neck.

An employee was jacking up a truck to make repairs on the vehicle suspension. While installing the jack, it slipped and caught their right hand between the frame of the truck and the jack resulting in a partial amputation of the middle finger.

On January 17, 2024, an employee loaded a trash cart onto the handles of a garbage truck. She pushed the automatic tipper lever to move the cart up into the truck when her arm got caught in the cart, pushing her into the hopper of the garbage truck. Her head was pinned between the garbage cart and the side of the truck. The employee suffered a laceration to the right side of the head.

An employee was operating a forklift and unloading a truck. After the truck was unloaded, the employee got off the forklift and proceeded to adjust the dock plate with a hook tool. The dock plate slipped and the employee went to adjust the plate with their hand when their left middle finger got caught. Their finger was amputated above the first joint.
