An employee was working from a bosun's chair in a confined space when the chair failed. The employee was lowered to the bottom of the space, where he stood in hot coke while trying to repair the chair. When the employee could not repair the chair, he requested rescue and was pulled from the space. The employee was hospitalized for burns to their feet, hands, back, and buttocks.
