Final narrative
A temporary employee was performing tasks on the cold scale when a beef carcass became lodged on the peroxyacetic acid wash cabinet as it moved down the automated line. As the employee dislodged the carcass from cabinet, his hand became caught between the carcass and the cabinet, resulting in amputation of the little fingertip.
On May 6, 2019, at approximately 7:00 AM, an employee was pulling bones from a conveyor and stacking them on the table of a bandsaw. The employee turned to retrieve more bones and his left pinky finger struck the running saw blade causing a partial amputation.
An employee's fingers were inside a machine when a second employee activated the two-hand controls, powering the machine's hock cutter. The hock cutter then amputated the employee's fingers.
