An employee was picking citrus fruit and developed symptoms of heat related illnesses included abdominal cramping, dehydration, and acute kidney injury due to dehydration, leukocytosis and hyponatremia.
On February 25, 2023, an employee was picking up oranges from approximately 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Once the employee was home, he began experiencing cramps. He was hospitalized for dehydration.
