Love's Travel Stop

An employee was conducting repairs on the tow hitch of a customer's recreational vehicle (RV). They were putting the trailer hitch back together when one of the pins released onto their right index finger, amputating the fingertip without bone loss.

An employee was descending a step stool after stocking a shelf. The employee missed the last step and fell, landing on the floor and suffering fractures to the right leg and arm.

An employee was counting scrap tires located on a trailer in the parking lot. He lost his balance and fell to the ground breaking his tibia and fibula. The employee was hospitalized.

An employee was torquing the lug nuts on a semi tractor. As she pushed down, her torque wrench came off the lug nut and she fell to the ground. She suffered a broken right ankle and was hospitalized.

An employee was entering a stall for cleaning when the door closed on their finger. The right middle fingertip was amputated.

An employee parked their vehicle at a facility and stepped out of the vehicle to begin cleaning a portable toilet. The parking brake failed and the vehicle began to roll backward. The employee fell and was struck by the front driver's side tire. The employee's hip was fractured.

On October 26, 2024, employees were preparing to clean a parts washer. An employee went up the stairs and stepped off the platform onto the door frame. They then stepped onto the washer's table to connect an overhead crane to the cleaned parts basket. They walked back across the washer's table to exit and then stepped back onto the door frame with their right foot to reach the step platform. Their left foot slipped and was submerged approximately 6-7 inches in an uncovered water reservoir containing water heated to approximately 170 F. The employee sustained second-degree burns on their left ankle and foot.

An employee was working on the sidewalk and roadway applying paint strips on the ground with thermoplastic striping paint, which was heated during application. The employee had dug a small hole to bury excess paint, and his foot went into the hole. He was hospitalized with second-degree burns to his right foot and lower right leg.

On June 11, 2024, an employee was standing on the back bumper of a mixer truck when he fell and struck his face on the bumper. The employee suffered a fractured neck and broken teeth.

A delivery driver was delivering product at a customer location. He was using an electric pallet jack to offload a pallet when he fell off the trailer liftgate. The pallet jack then fell on his leg, causing the driver to sustain a broken leg and a laceration to his forehead from the fall.

An employee tripped over a broom handle, fell, and suffered injuries to the left hip and elbow. The employee was hospitalized.

On June 26, 2025, an employee was walking to clean product from the floor when she slipped on a cardboard display that a customer had knocked onto the floor. The employee was hospitalized with a fractured right ankle and required surgery.

An employee was removing decals off the side of a tanker truck while on an 8-foot step ladder. He had one foot on the third rung of the ladder and one foot on the hose tray of the truck. The ladder kicked out from underneath the employee. His feet were tangled in the ladder as he fell approximately 3 feet to the ground. The employee sustained a fractured pelvis and required surgery.

An employee was returning from break and walking back to the building from his car when he was struck by a commercial truck and trailer. The truck struck him and when he went to roll out of the way, the trailer ran over his left leg. The employee was hospitalized with a fracture and puncture to his left leg and road rash to both of his legs.

An employee was opening a box to stock the cooler when the box cutter severely lacerated his left palm, requiring surgery.

An employee was working to deliver mail to an apartment building. She was waiting for a customer to move, to obtain clearance to the mailboxes. The door swung inward and closed on her right little finger. The top half of her finger was surgically amputated.

An employee fell from a step ladder while reaching for a tie-off point. He impacted the ground, and landed on his bolt bag which contained tools. The employee was hospitalized with fractured ribs, and a lacerated spleen and kidney.

On October 30, 2025, an employee was working to adjust a stackable metal shipping container. As the container dropped into place, it caught the employee's hands in an area between the upper and lower cross-members. The employee suffered a laceration to the left ring finger that required stitches, bruising to the right ring finger, and fractures to the right middle finger that necessitated medical amputation of the fingertip.

An employee was moving a scissor lift through a doorway. The employee was pinned between the scissor lift and the doorframe, sustained a back injury, and was hospitalized.

An employee was setting up communication equipment for a meeting. They were walking and tripped over a speaker on the ground. The employee sustained a leg injury.
