Final narrative
An employee was picking up traffic barrels while standing on a moving flatbed trailer. When the vehicle made a U-turn, the employee lost his balance and fell onto the freeway pavement. The employee sustained a fracture to the back of the skull and a brain bleed.
While working on a roadway pavement marking removal crew, an employee was riding on the back of a work truck. He fell from the back of the truck while it was moving, resulting in a fractured skull, brain bleed, and head trauma.
An employee was standing on the driver side rear step of a trash truck while traveling down a road to collect residential trash. The employee went to signal the driver and slipped off the step while the truck was traveling 8-9 miles per hour. He fell 18 inches to the ground and was hospitalized with a fractured ankle that required surgery.
