An employee was connecting a fuel hose to a plane using a rolling aluminum staircase when a weld broke on the staircase and it collapsed into two pieces. The employee fell 4-5 feet and landed on the broken staircase. The employee sustained knee lacerations, internal bleeding, and two fractured ribs.
