What happened

Employee was in Maintenance shop supporting with [REDACTED] rack modification so they could be used in spares for additional storage options. Employee was utilizing an electric powered grinder to remove excess metal material from rack. employee was grasping grinder with his right hand with his left hand positioned on the side handle attached to the grinder for stability during usage. Employee stated employee was holding the grinder parallel with the section of the rack employee was grinding down. During grinding operation the grinding disk snapped broke apart and a section of the disk made contact with the employees left hand middle and index figure resulting in a small cut to the employees middle figure and causing discomfort to both his middle figure and index figure.
