Before the incident

The worker was helping a coworker fuel up an excavator and had just handed him the fill nozzle.

What happened

As the worker was stepping back down off the equipment his ring caught on the traction aid on the step that the manufacturer had placed on the machine that he was using as a grab hold. This made the ring dig into his finger.
