Packing glass on a manual pack line.

What happened

Employee was packing on Manual line 1 a broken piece of 32 3 16 x 72 7 16 glass came down manual line when the employee grasp the piece of glass to throw it away the glass broke the end away from him struck the floor and pushed his hand up into the frame of the spurline frame mashing left thumb and punctured the glove on left hand at the palm and thumb joint first aid was administered and operator was taken to hospital for further evaluation.
