What happened

his thumb was crushed between the side of the trailer bed and the upright bar when the upright bar came swinging back on the safety cable after being sprung free of the upper track and the lower pins by enertia created when he pulled the upright bar which was under pressure from a possibly bent roof. (possibly snow load?). He was used to a bar which has release levers which open on the right-hand side and swing up from left-to-right. The newbars open outward.
