Employee stated that while he was bringing a piece of equipment onto the elevator and as he passed the threshold into the car and with no warning the car just released and plummeted down all the way to the pit at the bottom out in the basement and throwing and slamming him onto the floor and immediately after he was experiencing pain onto the right ankle and knee. Pain to the right ankle knee leg pelvis neck and lower back.
