I was unloading a waste hopper and proceeded to pull the hopper release lever. Upon pulling it i lost stability and placed my left hand on the upper side of the forklift fork to gain stability. When the hopper tipped and the weight transferred my hand was pinched between the fork and the hopper frame resulting in lacerations to my fingers.
