The patient had inserted the infusion set then removed it and handed it to the employee with the needle pointing towards the employee 's hand. She felt it graze her thumb but was not sure if it puncture the skin. She said she finished explaining the procedure to the patient then she removed the gloves to use hand sanitizer when she felt pain the site. No bleeding at the site but EE states a possible abrasion. She did state that she wash her hands 3x.
