Before the incident

Employee was assisting with the rebuild of a pellet mill helping to install a replacement main shaft assembly into the main shaft bearings

What happened

As the main shaft was being handed through from the front of the machine the employee was guiding it into the main shaft bearings when it slipped off of the pellet mill casting and dropped down about 4-5 inches. It landed on the tip of his left 4th finger.
