Before the incident

The employee was emptying a trash hopper with a forklift.

What happened

While emptying garbage into the hoppers outside the employee noticed 3 cases of salt sitting on a pallet. The employee dismounted his forklift and attempted to pick up the cases of salt and throw them into the dumpster. While picking up the first case of salt to put it into the dumpster he felt a pinching sensation under his arm and a pop in his shoulder resulting in pain when lifting his arm.
