What happened

While taking right index finger in an attempt to close the safety cap over an IM needle EE 's index finger slipped over the top of the safety cap and hit the tip of the needle which had already been used to inject medication into a patient seconds prior. Skin on tip of right index finger broken and scant amt of blood present.
