What happened

I went into the pts room to draw some labs. Had my stuff ready and I had to clarify to him multiple times that I was going to draw some blood since he was not in the right state of mind. I stuck him once in the hand and he kept on moving it and I told him to not move. I couldn 't get anything so I took the needle out and activated the safety. Disposed of everything and decided to try to attempt to stick him again. I got brand new stuff and I stuck him again once again moving his arm so I decided to just stop right there. I took the needle out and I did not activate the safety. I threw the tubes away and had the needle in my hand and as I was about to throw it in the sharps I felt a sharp pain in my hand. I realized in that moment not once did I activate the safety the second time and once I took my glove off I saw that I was bleeding. I washed my hands immediately and afterwards notified someone in the lab of the incident.
