Before the incident

Heading towards stairs to go down and rod out recovery boiler 2.

What happened

Employee was en route to rod out 2 recovery boiler. The employee passed the east liquor gun to head down the stairs. While going down the stairs the hose on the liquor gun blew off and sprayed 68 liquor on the employee. At the time of the incident the employee was wearing a rod out jacket face shield and gloves. The employee was burned on the right arm above the elbow and potentially on the left arm and leg. The employee then went to the safety shower and was sent to medical. An ambulance took the employee to Piedmont Medical Center
