Cutting holes in the tarp

What happened

The team member was on top of the rail cars tarping the load. After the tarp was down they began cutting holes in the top for the cables that secure the load. They bent down to cut a hole in the tarp and placed their left hand down to stabilize themselves. They then poked their knife into the tarp and cut the hole. Their knife slipped and cut their left wrist near their thumb. The team member was taken to the local ER and was evaluated. After evaluation due to the location of the laceration they were transported to [REDACTED] via ambulance for treatment. At UAMS they received 3 sutures and were discharged. They were told to keep it wrapped when outside and return to work on [REDACTED]. They were informed to work but if they felt tugging or pulling to stop and find a different way. Return to a local doctor in 10-14 days to have the sutures removed.
