employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment  which was free from
recognized hazards
which were likely to cause death or serious injury from fire and
explosion, in that, the
shutdowns and alarm devices of the Sullair Compressor, Model 20-125L - WC
AC 24KT,
Serial Number 003-84451, were not inspected and tested on a regular basis,
both high
temperature shut down switches were disabled and the output wires from the
thermistor
board to terminals 4 and 5 on the control panel had been jumpered.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazardous condition is to establish a periodic testing program in
accordance with paragraph
2.2.3 General Operating Procedures in ASME B19.1-1995 - Safety Standard
for Air
Compressor Systems.
