Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to falls to lower level:
a)Rochester airport ticketing area - On or about 01/21/2005, an employee
using
ADMAR SKYJACK 4626 scissor lift approximately 10 ft. above grade was
exposed
to fall hazards while performing work at the ceiling level as a result of
standing on
the midrail of the elevated work platform of the scissor lift.  Among
other methods,
one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to
ensure
employees maintain a firm footing on the platform floor while working on
the
elevated work platform in accordance with Section 14.2.6 of the American
National
Standards Institute, ANSI A92.6-1979 Standard for Self-Propelled Elevating
Work
Platforms.
