29 CFR 1926.501(b)(10): Each employee engaged in roofing activities on low-slope roofs with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels, was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, or a combination of warning line system and guardrail system, warning line system and safety net system, or warning line system and personal fall arrest system, or warning line system and safety monitoring system:     (a). Worksite located at 12344 15th St., Grandview, Missouri- Employees were observed working and  walking on an awning in which the men were not protected from falling by the use of any means of fall protection.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:     (a). Worksite located at 12344 15th St., Grandview, Missouri- Employees were exposed to a fall hazard in that the ladder being used to access and egress on and off the awning was not only a step-ladder, but also did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface.    (b). Worksite located at 12344 15th Street, Grandview, Missouri- Employees were exposed to a fall hazard in that the employees were observed using a step ladder that was leaned against the structure in which the metal spreader bar was not engaged. Employees also used this ladder to access the awning and climbing off the awning.
