In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    On or about April 6, 2017, employees were exposed to struck by and amputation hazards when interlocks did not provide effective machine guarding for employees required to clear jams or change tools on the PM02 piston machines on lines 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.  The interlocked doors used to provide alternative protection to the employees did not function properly and permitted the doors to be opened before the tool had stopped moving.    The Toyota Industries Compressor Parts America, Co. dba TICA was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1046056, citation number 1, item number 6 and was affirmed as a final order on Jun 22, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 500 Valentine Industrial Parkway in PENDERGRASS, GA 30567.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification.  This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
