29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed:     a) On or about May 18 and May 19, 2017, the employer did not conduct periodic inspections of the energy control procedures in the past 12 months to ensure that procedures and requirements of the standard were being followed.      In accordance with 29CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.

29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment was not used.    a)  On May 17, 2017, the employer did not ensure compressed air used for cleaning machined parts at the HAAS SL 30 CNC machines was reduced to less than 30 p.s.i. and then only with effective chip guarding.     In accordance with 29CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
