29 CFR 1926.251(a)(6): Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments shall be inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer. Additional inspections shall be performed during sling use, where service conditions warrant. Damaged or defective slings shall be immediately removed from service:    (a) On or about 03/05/2019 - Flaking Silo area, two nylon web slings used for rigging a structural steel H-beam weighing approximately 3,528 pounds, were not properly inspected by a competent person as required creating a struck-by hazard.
