29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips, and sparks: a) On or about December 16, 2020, in the maintenance shed the Stihl FS 130 Professional Trimmer/Brushcutter was missing the debris shield guard exposing employees to a struck-by hazard and the employer did not ensure Trimmer/Brushcutter were maintained with discharge chute guarding.

29 CFR 1910.243(e)(1)(i): Power lawnmowers of the walk-behind, riding-rotary, and reel power lawnmowers shall be guarded in accordance with the machine guarding requirements in 29 CFR 1910.212, General requirements for all machines. a) On or about December 16, 2020, in the maintenance shed the Cub Cadet riding zero turn lawnmower (SN# 4307503221) was missing the chute guard exposing employees to a struck-by hazard and the employer did not ensure riding mowers were maintained with discharge chute guarding.
