29 CFR  1926.651(i)(3): Sidewalks, pavements and appurtenant structure shall not be undermined unless a support system or another method of protection is provided to protect employees from the possible collapse of such structures.  a) Lake Street Village of Stillwater, NY-On or about July 12, 2021 and at times prior thereto, employees installing water lines in a trench with undercut excavation walls and overhanging unsupported sidewalks, were exposed to struck by hazards.
