1910.132(d)(1)  The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE):(a)(LOCATION)(IDENTIFY SPECIFIC OPERATION(S) AND/OR CONDITIONS)(DESCRIBE HAZARD(S) WHERE NECESSARY) OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees.  (a) On or about December 27, 2022, and at times preceding, the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that rig crew employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.  Employees working on Rig 769, 40.38623 degrees North, -104.80552 degrees West, near Evans, CO, were exposed to struck-by hazards during changing a skate cable while manually moving the skate into place.  The employer did not have a written Standard Operating Procedure for changing a skate cable.  Feasible and acceptable abatement methods include, but are not limited to:  1) Ensure the skate cable is changed in accordance with the operator's manual regarding safe operation and maintenance of the equipment.�  2) Adhere to the service requirements in the operator's manual for maintaining the Canrig PC3000 Automated Power Catwalk.
