Port of Los Angeles, Berth 102, M/V Hyundai Force: On and/or before August 16, 2023, employee(s) used lashing rods to facilitate the securing of cargo containers. Lashing gear was not stored in the rod holders and were put in the center of the catwalk. Employee(s) were potentially exposed to trip hazard(s).

29 CFR  1918.22(e): The employer did not provide a net or other suitable protection where the gangway overhung the water so that there was danger of employees falling between the ship and the dock.  Port of Los Angeles, Berth 102, M/V Hyundai Force Majuro: On and/or before August 16, 2023, the employer did not provide suitable net protection to prevent employee(s) from receiving serious injury from falls to a lower level. A significant gap was seen that potentially exposed employee(s) to fall hazards.
