29 CFR  1926.602(c)(1)(vi): Industrial truck(s) in use did not meet the applicable requirements of design, construction, stability, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation, as defined in American National Standards Institute B56.1-1969, Safety Standards for Powered Industrial Trucks.    On or about January 10, 2024, at the South Plant, the employer allowed employees to move a pipe with a forklift without the pipe being stable or safely arranged.

29 CFR  1926.251(d)(7): Employers must use natural- and synthetic-fiber rope slings that have permanently affixed and legible identification markings that state the rated capacity for the type(s) of hitch(es) used and the angle upon which it is based, type of fiber material, and the number of legs if more than one.  On or about January 10, 2024, at the South Plant, the employer did not use synthetic-fiber rope slings that had permanently affixed and legible identification markings as required, while employees used slings to lift pipe.
