29 CFR  1915.158(a)(2):Prior to each use, personal flotation devices shall be inspected for dry rot, chemical damage, or other defects which may affect their strength and buoyancy. Defective personal flotation devices shall not be used.  a) First Marine, LLC: On or about 06-25-2024 and at times prior, the employer failed to ensure personal protective devices were inspected for defects which may affect their strength.  An employee was using a personal protective device with nylon outer layer exposing the inside foam of the device to the environment.
