Employee suffered a broken finger and a partial amputation on two separate fingers of the left hand while working at the tilt hoist in the planing mill.
An employee was replacing a broken pin at the sorter bay. After removing the pin, the employee used a carter pin to energize the valve. The cylinder rod extended and he used his left index finger to check the alignment of the clevis and Pad-I. The carter pin slipped, causing the valve to de-energize and the cylinder to retract and amputate his left index fingertip.
An employee was sorting wooden boards on a finish line when a board weighing approximately 30 pounds fell on the employee's head. The employee suffered partial paralysis of the hands and feet and was hospitalized. The employee was wearing a hard hat at the time of the incident.
