An employee was removing a hand temper (compaction for dirt) out of a dump truck by lifting it with a backhoe bucket. His left ring finger was pinched between the tailgate of the dump truck and the hand temper when he grabbed the hand temper as it slipped and fell off the bucket. The employee suffered some bone loss (no amputation) and incurred 100 stiches.
