An employee was attempting to hang a 365' drop from the house to the connector wire. He placed his ladder on the strand and proceeded to climb it. The ladder began to slide sideways; the employee started climbing down but was thrown off the ladder at an elevation of approximately 10 feet. The employee landed in a ditch and suffered a compound fracture of the leg. The ladder was at an approximately 40-degree angle when the employee was thrown from it.
