An employee broke his leg above the foot when it was pinned between forklift forks and material. He had started the forklift as he was standing beside it and raised the forks a few inches off the ground. He then went in front of the forklift to adjust the distance of the forks. While he was talking with another employee, the forklift started rolling forward. The emergency brakes were not applied at the time.
